Heinde & Verre

Founded in 2019 by Jan-Willem and Ewald, Heinde & Verre is a craft chocolate maker based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The brand focuses on bringing together high-quality cacao from around the world with carefully sourced local ingredients. Its name means “near and far,” reflecting this combination of international cacao and Dutch culinary traditions. The founders are always trying new ideas and experimenting with different techniques to bring out the natural flavours of each cacao, even developing their own vegan milk chocolate.

Heinde & Verre uses traditional stone grinding, its own split-roasting method, and a chocolate-aging process to develop the flavour and complexity of its cacao. These methods help create chocolate with a distinctive taste while allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine through. The brand’s focus on quality and craftsmanship has earned it 25 awards from the Academy of Chocolate, including the Golden Bean in 2024.
