Since its inception, Öko Caribe has been purchasing wet beans from small farmers and processing them at their centralized location in the Duarte Province of the Dominican Republic. Öko Caribe currently works with over 165 farmers that receive training and funding. Owners Adriano de Jesus Rodriguez and Gualberto Acebey Torrejon have fine-tuned their systems to ensure consistent, superior quality in their 450 tons of annual production, as well as achieving organic certification.
